This pair of gilt bronze bookends were produced by Tiffany Studios as part of the Abalone Desk Set. The Abalone Set was one of the most popular desk set patterns offered by Tiffany Studios, and was in regular production for several decades.
The outward facing flat plane of each bookend depicts a stylized grape cluster in the center, with each individual grape represented by an inset circular disc of abalone shell with vibrant coloration in shades of silvery blue and purple with natural iridescence.
These rare Tiffany Studios Bookends are stamped on the underside with firm’s marks and model numbers.
