This Calendar Frame is part of the Art Moderne Desk Set produced by Louis C. Tiffany Furnaces Inc. in the early 1920s; today the Desk Set is more commonly referred to by Tiffany collectors as the “Art Deco” Desk Set.
The gilt easel-backed bronze frame features a horizontal opening, originally intended for a calendar but which can also display a photograph measuring 4 ¾ inches high by 3 ¼ inches wide. The borders feature rectilinear recesses with inset enamel in variegated shades of blue. Circular motifs at each corner have been filled with a complementary golden yellow enamel, harmonizing with the patina of the bronze.
