These rare gilt bronze candlesticks by Louis C. Tiffany Furances, Inc. are decorated on the rounded foot with motifs in inset enamel, including a quatrefoil formed by stylized flower buds and stems in addition to flower pots.
This pair of candlesticks has a special provenance. They were originally owned by a woman who worked as a secretary at Louis C. Tiffany Studios on 46 West 23rd Street, NY, from 1927 until 1937.
In a period list of Louis C. Tiffany Furnaces, Inc. items, this candlestick model is listed as number “44 Candlestick, round, with enamel decoration, 2 ¾ inches.”
Each candlestick is stamped on the underside with firm's mark and model number.
