This end table by American master woodworker and designer George Nakashima is formed by a live-edge slab of American Black Walnut with sap grain detail and natural openings, with separations in the highly figured grain bridged by one rosewood butterfly.
The dynamic slab top is supported by an unusual cross-legged variation of Nakashima’s Conoid table base.
This table was acquired directly from Nakashima Studios in 1977 and is signed on the underside with the last name of the original purchaser. A digital copy of the original invoice from Nakashima Studios is available.
