This vibrant red Tiffany Favrile Glass vase is a fine example of the decorative technique developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany and his glassworkers which came to be known as “Cypriote.” This line of Tiffany Glass, characterized by an irregular surface marked by pitted texture and often unusual iridescent effects, was inspired by the glass unearthed by Luigi Palma di Cesnola in Cyprus in the late 19th century.
This vase dates from the 1920s, a later period of Favrile Glass production. The rounded form features a narrow neck and clear foot. The entire surface of the body of the vase and neck in red glass is marked by irregular surface texture featuring burst bubbles in a variety of sizes.
This vase is inscribed on the underside with date code and signature, and retains an original paper label.
