This Decorated Favrile Glass Cabinet vase is a fine example of the gold iridescent glass that was perfected by the chemists and glassblowers working for Louis Comfort Tiffany in Corona, Queens.
The rounded body of the vase, formed by opaque gold glass with brilliant iridescent finish tinged with magenta near the narrowed neck, features a decorative motif of swirling thin vines and heart-shaped leaves in vibrant green glass, the vines stretching up into the rounded rim.
