A rare metal embellished piece designed by James Houston for Steuben, depicting an Inuit fisherman in a canoe in sterling silver, his boat framed by a large arched iceberg in frosted glass, resting on a block of faceted clear glass respresting the arctic waters, with additional engraved decoration of a seal swimming up towards the surface.
An example of this piece is in the permanent collection of the Corning Museum of Glass (accession no. 99.4.37). The museum also holds the resin model used to cast the arch.
