A Tiffany Favrile Glass Paperweight Agate Vase, the exterior appearing as a mosaic-like arrangement of tesserae in variegated blue.
The interior of this unusual Tiffany glass vase is "fumed" in an amber iridescent finish, revealing a rich purple iridescence along the rim.
In Tiffany Favrile Glass and the Quest of Beauty, Martin Eidelberg describes the technique used in producing this type of vase:
"Sections of millefiori caning were assembled and fused side-by-side, cased, and then were blown further and distended--an interesting variation on Ancient Roman murrine glass."
