This glazed ceramic vase was decorated by artist Anna Frances Simpson for Newcomb College Pottery in the early 1920s.
The entire body of the vase has been decorated with a hazily rendered scene of a garden late at night, with a full white moon partially obscured by the hanging spanish moss on one of the two Live Oak trees depicted.
This vase is marked on the underside with incised and inscribed cyphers indicating the date, as well as artists' mark.
