This Favrile Glass Vase is an exceptional example of Tiffany Studios’ gold iridescent Favrile Glass.
The baluster form of the vase is formed by opaque gold iridescent Tiffany Glass which has been decorated with a motif of swirling vines and heart-shaped leaves articulated in soft green glass. The decoration was further enhanced with wheel-carved details, including subtle faceted veins and curled edges on the leaves as well as the appearance of thorns and gnarled wood on the vines.
This vase notable for the deeply saturated rainbow tones seen across the entire surface of the vase, ranging from pinks and magentas through greens and into blues and purples. The lustrous finish affords a pleasing contrast to the matte effect of the intaglio decoration.
