Peony Hanging Shade

Diameter: 28 inches (71.12 cm)
The Peony Hanging Shade is believed to be the work of Clara Driscoll, the woman responsible for the conception and design of many iconic Tiffany Lamps.
In this example, the 28-inch diameter conical shade features a motif of vibrant magenta, pink and white peony blossoms depicted at every stage of development from bud to blossom. The flowers themselves are generally articulated in opalescent mottled and streaky Tiffany Glass, which is accented by a background of slightly more transparent streaky glass. The background glass ranges from shades of chartreuse near the lower rim to pink near the crown. Both the upper and lower border rows are articulated in rippled green Tiffany glass.
The upper and lower edges of the shade feature a beaded detail. The shade is signed.
