American, circa 1900
Height: 18 ¼ inches (46.4 cm)
Diameter: 17 inches (43.2 cm)

Believed to be the only extant example of the model, the Virginia Creeper is one of the few rare Tiffany Lamps intended as a representation of a living plant in leaded glass and bronze. This early lamp includes elements not typically seen in Tiffany's later, more widely produced lamps, including pressed leaves and threaded Tiffany glass beads representing purple berries.

This lamp was prominently featured in The Masterworks of Louis Comfort Tiffany, a landmark 1989-90 exhibition of Tiffany’s finest works which traveled to major institutions including The Renwick Gallery in Washington, D.C., and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
