Tiffany: The Pursuit of Beauty In Nature

On View at Selby Gardens February 12 through June 25, 2023

This new exhibition on the work of Louis Comfort Tiffany and Tiffany Studios is drawn from a world-class private collection which we are proud to have played an instrumental role in forming.

Tiffany: The Pursuit of Beauty in Nature explores the connection between the masterworks produced by Tiffany and the inspiration which he and his designers gleaned from the natural world.

In addition to showcasing Tiffany Favrile Glass and Tiffany Windows, the exhibition highlights a selection of Tiffany Lamps designed by Clara Driscoll and the Tiffany Girls, including an exceptional example of a 16-inch diameter Dragonfly Shade paired with an early lamp base decorated with iridescent Tiffany Glass Mosaics.

These Tiffany Lamps are accompanied by reproductions of important design drawings from the collections of the New-York Historical Society and the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, including floral studies done by the Tiffany Girls directly from nature.
