A rare ceramic vase by John Bennett of bottle form with rounded body and thin cylindrical stem with slightly flared rim. This vase feature Bennett's typical underglaze decoration, this example depicting pale yellow lilies in various configurations against a variegated deep green ground. The neck of the vase feaures a raised portion with a stylized foliate pattern.
This early example of the pottery produced by Bennett in the United States is signed on the undereside with the artists's name and an inscription indicating that it was produced in his studio on East 24th Street.
