In the early 20th century, Tiffany Studios produced bronze Desk Sets in a number of distinctive designs, each with a range of matching accessories and decorative schemes. This Picture Frame model was one of several options designed to coordinate with the "Pine Needle" Set, one of the two variations of the popular "Etched Metal and Glass" series.
This gilt bronze vertical Picture Frame is backed by variegated Tiffany Glass in shades of cream and caramel, with a pierced gilt metal overlay representing pine needles and boughs.
The easel-backed frame features a beaded rim on the outer edge, and is stamped on the reverse with firms' marks and model number.
