Tiffany Glass Mosaics adorned public and private buildings at the turn of the 20th century in the richly pigmented glass for which the company became world renowned. Tiffany's earliest mosaic comissions date from the 1880s and 1890s, when the company operated under the names of Tiffany Glass Company and Tiffany Glass & Decorating Company. Tiffany Studios continued to work in Favrile Glass Mosaic in the early 20th century, incorporating glass into Tiffany Lamp bases and rare bronze objects as well as decorated everything from private homes, mausoleums, and churches to public spaces like the Chicago Cultural Center and the Marshall Field's Department Store in Chicago.
